by If you’ve spent more than 5 minutes on the internet looking for information on any given topic, you’ve have certainly seen a guru or two. Experts, gurus, masters, and the one I hate the most, rockstars (yuck).
They’re everywhere. I mean, I guess technically I’m blogging because I consider myself one…kind of.
Except, I hate those words for a simple reason – they’re just not true.
See, if we were all experts, there would be nothing left to learn. If I knew everything, I would have no reason to blog because I’d already have it all figured out.
Sure, I might be good at what I do. And I might even know more than the average bear. But I’m still not the be all end all on the topic.
I’m here to learn as much as I am to teach. I want to share what I’ve learned, but I also want to hear from you. You may have some tricks up your sleeve that I’ve never even considered. And to me, that’s awesome.
Now that’s not to say I’m a novice or newbie at this stuff. I’ve been doing it for a long time at this point. And I do know a lot. But that doesn’t mean I know it all.
Take This Post For Example
SEO is the name of the game for the experts. And I love talking, learning, and implementing SEO just as much as the next guy.
But this post won’t win me any #1 spots on Google.
That’s my point though.
Damn what everyone says – this is your blog. You should be having fun with it too. If you want to write a blog post about nothing (ala Seinfeld), do it. If you want to ramble incoherently, do it. If you want to step outside your niche and blog about something else, do it.
I hate to be all Nike about it, but I’m going to say it anyway – Just do it.
Blogging doesn’t need to be a chore. It should be fun too. So go ahead and post what you want once in awhile. It’s not going to hurt anyone except the rockstars.
